The High School of Economics and Finance (HSEF) is a public high school in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City. It is located at 100 Trinity Place. New York University’s graduate business school used to be housed in this building. Corporate business and finance are part of the school’s curriculum. Accounting classes at the college level are available to all students.

Deutsche Bank and Citigroup are among the companies with which the school has developed business internship connections. Since the New York City Department of Education collaborated with Citigroup to found the school in 1993, HSEF has had a unique connection with the firm.

Last year, over 85% of our graduating students applied to colleges and universities. About 53% of these students enrolled in four-year institutions, while 18% enrolled in community colleges. There were no students who enlisted in the military.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Center for Undergraduate Research Experiences, Financial Woman’s Association, Global Glimpse, Liberty Partnerships Program, College Access Consortium of New York, Pace University, Hunter College, and the Young Professionals Mentoring Program have all benefited from the services and activities provided by HSEF’s affiliations with non-profit and community-based organizations.

HSEF Grading and Graduation Requirements

On a 100-point scale, the HSEF uses a cumulative numerical grading system. The majority of semester courses are one credit. All NYS credit (44 credit minimum) and examination requirements must be met by graduates, which include four years of English, four years of Social Studies, three years of Math, three years of Science, and one year of Foreign Language.
